SBHS Won the 2023 National Young Consumers Contest Award - Southern British High School, Calabar

The Southern British High School Calabar has emerged winner of the 2023 National Young Consumers Contest Award.

The contest which comprised of essay and oral debate on the topic : “The Consumer in the Evolution of Digital Finance” was organized by the Federal Competition & Consumer Protection Commission, Abuja. Eight hundred entries were received from various Secondary Schools across Nigeria. The entry made by the Southern British High School, Calabar was selected amongst the ten finalists.

The organizers disclosed that all entries were subjected to the plagiarism, AI and grammarly tests in order for a winner to emerge. The final phase of the contest was an oral debate presentation by the short listed schools in Abuja on 13th December 2023, where Southern British High School, Calabar emerged the overall winner of competition. The School was represented by two JSS 2 students – Miss Idera Peter and Miss Amanda Antigha, who won the first prize of N300,000 and other gifts.
